K12 Online Content -- Year 2

For the second year of this program that provides quality online supplemental content for California's kids, there's a series of all-day trainings for teachers, librarians, and other educators. The first on Sept. 24 is available by webinar!

The 2019-20 school year marks the second year of the K-12 Online Content Project, where supplemental educational content is provided for all public schools at no cost to the local educational agency. Students can access Britannica, TeachingBooks and the suite of resources from ProQuest as part of this California State Library and Riverside County Office of Education effort.

Three training sessions are being offered at three different locations throughout the state to help teachers, library staff, administrators, educational support staff and parents better understand what learning tools are being made available through these online offerings.

These training sessions are provided at no cost to those who attend, and lunch and snacks will be provided. The dates and locations are September 24 (San Diego)October 2 (Tulare) and November 12 (Stockton). For each day, training will start at 8:15 am and conclude at 3:30 pm. Attendees are not limited to those within the area of the various county education offices that are hosting the events.

Please note: the September 24th training will be available by live webcast and can be accessed from anywhere in California, thanks to our friends at the San Diego County Office of Education. Start the sign-up process with the links provided for the San Diego location -- you'll be prompted to choose whether you're coming in person or participating remotely.

Also: while each training day is very similar, the content providers will focus on how these resources can help English language learners and diverse classrooms at the November session in Stockton.

The State Library press announcement can be viewed HERE.

Registration links for these trainings are below, and the main page with information about the project is at http://www.library.ca.gov/services/to-public/k-12-online-content-project/.

Not sure your district is set up? You can check here to see if your district has signed up for access to these resources, as not every district has taken advantage of this statewide project quite yet.
