Impact Tourism: Giving Time, Talent & Treasure

On September 27, tourism industry and community development leaders will come together in Washington, DC for a World Tourism Day Forum celebrating travel that makes a difference. This day-long event, “Impact Tourism: Giving Time, Talent, & Treasure,” will focus on how tourism businesses, travelers, and organizations are successfully giving back to destination communities around the world.

Through interactive presentations and panel discussions, the 2019 World Tourism Day Forum will trace the evolution of what was originally referred to as travelers' philanthropy into impact tourism, which today represents a broad array of travel giving programs that are recognized as a core component of responsible travel. Designed to generate insights and highlight innovation, the forum will also discuss the future of this growing source of development assistance.

Join us on September 27 at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, DC for this important and timely discussion! To learn more and register, visit WorldTourismDayForum.com.

See you on World Tourism Day!

River Adventure on Kayaks & Farm Restoration

Enjoy a unique slice of Oahu and make a difference with travel2change. Tour begins with pickup from your hotel as we drive to the north shore of Oahu, location of Tsue’s Family Farm. We begin with an introduction to the farm’s family history and place in Oahu’s neighborhood well-being.

Next we will tend to the needs of the farm for up to 2-hours with tools & gloves provided. Then enjoy use of a kayak or SUP (stand-up paddle-board) on the Anahulu River, followed by a plate lunch under shaded picnic area in scenic surroundings with turtles, ducks, and a small waterfall.  Tour continues in historic Haleiwa Town where you can walk, shop and try famous Hawaiian shaved-ice.  Finally we will visit Dole Plantation, home of the world’s largest maze of growing pineapples.
