Lead Scotland and Advance HE have launched a new research project

The project aims to explore the range of practices happening across Scotland’s colleges and universities, that contribute to improving disabled students’ experiences and outcomes.

If you work in an institution or Students' Association in Scotland or for Sparqs, then we want to hear about the amazing and innovative work you’re doing to support disabled students to access, participate and progress in post-school education.

Staff tell us there is lots of great work already going on, but not enough opportunity to share best practice - both within and out with their own institutions. We therefore want to gather evidence of approaches and initiatives that are working, so we can share it with colleagues across the sector in an easily accessible way. In particular, we want to hear about practices and initiatives that show some evidence of impact and success. Click here to read more information about the project and to respond to the research questions. Please share with any relevant colleagues.

NEW FIFE YOUNG CARERS BEFRIENDING PROJECT  Our new project in Fife aims to enable young people aged 12 to 18 who have caring role at home to experience the same opportunities as their peers. Our fantastic Lead Scotland Volunteer Befriender’s provide support to young people that will improve their confidence, happiness and increase the connection with their community.
