Oh, hi friends!

When I got home on Sunday, my only goal (besides unpacking) was to avoid napping and stay up until 10pm to prevent as much jet-lag brain as possible.

Turns out that was easy to do.

Because when I walked into my apartment — which I hadn’t seen for 10 days — I was glad to be home, but I also saw all the little things that I’d been overlooking.

Maybe it was staying in so many perfectly organized, clutter-free hotels that did it. Maybe it was seeing what little stuff I actually used on a daily basis.

But now I finally saw the mirror that I never rehung, the picture that was hanging crooked, the electronic cables squiggling on the floor like a bunch of loose snakes, the messy desk, the disaster of a medicine cabinet. I saw it all and I loved it all but I thought: I can do better than this.

So I spent a couple of hours joyfully hanging up new things I wanted on my walls, rearranging my desk, and throwing out half the stuff in my medicine cabinet (Sephora, turns out I actually don’t want your free samples).

It probably looks exactly the same to anyone else’s eyes. But to me it feels fresh. I have more space, ready to fill it with whatever I want — or leave it hotel-room blank.

What can you rearrange today?

"To do what he wants to do, [Joaquin] Phoenix said there is only one question he needs to consider, and it’s laughably easy: 'What’s going to keep me excited or inspired, and wanting to work hard?'"

what’s going to keep me wanting to work hard.
what’s going to keep me wanting to work hard.
what’s going to keep me wanting to work hard.

*head explodes*

(He chose to work on Joker. I don’t think it’s a comedy.)

Oh you want a light, relaxing melody to type to? I don’t have that, but I do have Johann Strauss II’s Kaiser-Walzer, since I’m working on my musical set in 1880 Vienna today and I gotta feel those ~waltz vibes~.

Don't you wanna click on those guys? Enjoy!!!
