Helpful Hint
If you have a last minute dismissal change there's no need to call the office. It's not always possible to get a message to the teacher at the end of the day. But, don't worry, your kids are safe with us! We have several teachers in the parking lot to help with dismissal and they have walkie talkies. If you need your child to come out as a car rider, just ask a teacher to radio for them. If you're going to be late, the teachers will bring the students back into the classroom and you can pick them up at door 2 or the main office! A teacher will radio for them to come down. Cultural Day
The Cultural Day Committee will have a call-out meeting for parents and volunteers on Thursday, September 26 at 6:30pm. Want to know more about what goes on during St. Jude’s Cultural Day (March 26, 2020)? Wondering what types of time commitments and opportunities there are to help? The planning committee for Cultural Day will be meeting at Gallagher’s Pub (formerly McQ’s) We will review the event and share multiple opportunities for parents to get involved. Car Wash
The 8th grade is hosting a car wash Sunday, September 22, during and after each Mass from 8:00 a.m - until 1:00 p.m. Park in the East lot near the Youth Center or come anytime during the car wash hours to brighten up your vehicle! All donations will support the 8th grade in raising funds for their upcoming class trip and class gift to the school. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
National Junior Honor Society
We will have our first meeting on September 24 for the current members of the National Junior Honor Society. We will discuss how to stay an active member and plan out what we want to do this year for a service project. Please pick up your child at Door 2 by 4:15.
Cafeteria Employee Needed
The school cafeteria is looking for someone to work in the kitchen from 10:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday during school days only. How fun would be to see your kids come through the lunch line everyday! If you are interested, please send an email to our cafeteria manager at

St. Jude Children's Choir
The St. Jude's Children's Choir program will continue to meet on
Mondays from 5 - 5:50 pm. We would like to expand the choir program to create two choirs - one for students up to 4th grade and a second for students in grades 5 - 8. If your child(ren) are interested in being in choir please contact Tina Valdois-Bruner at

Box Tops For Education
Box Tops for Education is a major fundraiser for St Jude Catholic School. Paper Box Tops are now being replaced by scanning your receipt in the Box Top app.
NOTE: You need to download the App and have 14 days to scan your receipt. It is super easy!

3. Scan receipt. You can scan all receipts, whether you think you purchased select products or not. It will automatically calculate and add the earning to St Jude’s account.
Good News: Not all products have completed the Box Top transition, so for the next 2 months, it is possible to clip box tops AND scan a receipt so St Jude will earn double!

School Play
“Be our guest”...as the St. Jude Fine Arts Committee begins production on the wonderfullly entertaining and crowd-pleasing, Disney ‘Beauty and the Beast, Jr’. You can make Belle, the Beast, Lumiere, Gaston, and many other fun characters come to life on the Roncalli High School stage--by auditioning for the show! (
Both singing and non-singing parts are needed!) Or help design and build the sets and be part of the awesome backstage crew!
Come join the fun and rewarding experience of being part of a live stage production!
Auditions are Friday, September 20, 6:30p-8:30p and Saturday September 21, 8:30a-11:30a in the St. Jude cafeteria.

The athletic board has introduced a new spirit wear website. Order your items online and they will be mailed directly to your home.

It is now time to sign up for CYO High School Basketball. To be sure that we have the right number of teams and the right number of players on each team please start talking to your teammates from last year and prospective teammates for this year. The CYO is emphasizing that players must play for their parish.

Roncalli 2019 Homecoming Event
On September 27, 2019, Roncalli High School will host its 50 year homecoming celebration. At half-time during the 7:00 PM game against Brebeuf Jesuit High School, the 50th class and the 25th class will be recognized. Awards will be given for Alumni of the Year and Honorary Alumni.
After the presentations, the homecoming festivities will continue under the big tent with food, drink and a live band performance by local favorite “Tastes Like Chicken.” This is an over 21 gathering, and tickets to the tent party are $10 which include food and band. Beverages will be available for purchase.

Mark your calendars! Christian recording artist, Kathy Troccoli will be performing free of charge at Roncalli on Tuesday, October 8. Two of the Roncalli choirs will be performing with her, and each south deanery grade school will be represented during this performance! Tickets are available in Roncalli's Main Office starting on Tuesday, September 3rd from 8 AM - 3 PM. There are limited seats, so get yours early!
