RECENT NEWS
Thank you to all who attended the most recent Metro Vision Idea Exchange co-hosted by DRCOG, CU Denver, and Metro DNA as part of the Imagine a Great Region initiative. A special thanks to our speakers, Samantha Albert (Deputy Director, Colorado Outdoor Recreation Industry Office), Jackie Miller (Director of Programs, Great Outdoors Colorado) and Travis Warziniak (Research Economist, U.S. Forest Service, Denver Urban Field Station), for sharing their insight on our natural resources and their ongoing contributions to Colorado's economy.
If you attended the Colorado Open Space Alliance Conference in Steamboat Springs, or the CO APA Conference in Snowmass Village this week, we hope you were able to connect with our Metro DNA staff, Steering Committee members, and students. Dana Coelho and Alex Handloff delivered a Nature Narratives workshop at COSA on Tuesday morning and Parker McMullen-Bushman was the closing keynote speaker on Wednesday alongside former National Park Service Director, John Jarvis. Madison Kraus, Nikki Chernick, Alexa Cotton, and Alex Handloff shared about their work and our collective progress on the Regional Vision for People + Nature at the CO APA conference on Wednesday morning.

PARTNER HIGHLIGHT
In partnership with Lincoln Hills Cares and El Laboratorio, Metro DNA has been awarded one of 14 Catalyst Fund grants from the Network for Landscape Conservation.
Targeted at accelerating the pace and effective practice of collaborative landscape conservation across the United States, these awards include four grants to indigenous communities and only one truly urban conservation collaborative... Metro DNA!
This grant will support the co-creation of a Regional Vision for People + Nature that is grounded in community and culture, and informed by the youth that live, work, and learn along the South Platte River, one of our treasured cross-boundary natural resources. As a grantee, Metro DNA is now also part of the Catalyst Fund network and will have the opportunity to engage with and learn from our collaborative conservation peers across the country.
