Dear Friends,

Fall is in the air. What a spectacular time of year. I hope you will join me for a Forterra outing. We will visit three keystone projects, both past and present.

Onwards,
Michelle

President and CEO | Forterra
Land For Good.
WADAJIR | A Place for Togetherness
Thursday, September 26th | 2:30 PM - 4 PM
Tukwila Library | 14380 Tukwila International Blvd

Join a group for a tour of the future site of the Wadajir International Market and Residences. Together with leaders from Tukwila’s Somali-American community and the Abu Bakr mosque, Forterra is transforming a Knights Inn motel into a hub for entrepreneurs and world-class attainable-to-own housing. We will start inside the Tukwila Library and finish with a walk around the neighborhood. Leading the tour will be Forterra’s VP of Real Estate Toby Levey and Community Campaign Manager, Ilays Aden.

Please RSVP here.

SALMON WATCHING ON THE CEDAR RIVER
Wednesday, October 2nd | 1 - 3 PM | Maple Valley

Join Michelle Connor, President & CEO, on a salmon-watching adventure on the Cedar River. We’ll find the perfect spot to keep an eye on the water and, with any luck, get the amazing opportunity to watch sockeye and Chinook salmon on their heroic journey from the Puget Sound, through the Ballard Locks and Lake Washington, and up the Cedar River to spawn in the Belmondo and Royal Arch reaches, where Forterra is managing the restoration of forested floodplain.

While we watch the fish swim and leap, Michelle will tell you about Forterra's work caring for the green spaces and rivers of our region. You’ll have the chance to ask questions and learn about the ways Forterra keeps this place we live a place we love. Salmon are a keystone species in the Puget Sound region, and their rapid decline emphasizes the need for community advocates like you – come see them first-hand, and learn what you can do to help.

Please RSVP here.
A WALK ON DUWAMISH HILL
Thursday, October 17 | 10 AM - 12 PM | Duwamish Hill Preserve

In 2004, Forterra, the City of Tukwila, and a passionate group of local citizens partnered together to create a 10.5 acre park full of historical, cultural, and ecological significance for our region. It is in constant evolution as volunteers continue to restore native species and remove invasive plants, and serves as an active outdoor classroom for neighborhood schools.

Join us for a walk with Forterra President & CEO Michelle Connor – we’ll walk the trail to the top of the hill for a view of Mt Rainier and learn about tribal significance and history of the land all the while taking in the fall beauty of this labor of love.

Please RSVP here.
