Climate Strike Friday

Join this worldwide protest action on Friday, September 20Attend the Sacramento rally on the Capitol West Steps, 1315 10th Street, at 12 PM.   Click here to sign up for the event.  Wear red and black, and carpool to the Watt Ave. light rail station where you can catch the train to the capitol.  Actions are also planned in Nevada City and Lake Tahoe.

Urgent: Call Newsom - Sign SB1

SB1 is California's response to Trump's rollback of environmental protections and has passed both houses of the legislature by wide margins.  Gov. Newsom appears to be yielding to intense lobbying pressure and saying he may veto this important bill.  Please take a moment to call his office at 916-445-2841 and let him know you support this critical protection for California.  Every call matters - please do this!

This Weekend: AADC Fundraiser

Want to enjoy some comic relief while supporting important local efforts?  Come to the Auburn Area Democratic Club's annual fundraiser this Sunday, September 22, from 2-4 PM at the Gomez Center in downtown Auburn.  Featuring comedian Will Durst and food by local chef Laura Kenney.  Proceeds help fund local support for Democratic candidates.  Event info and tickets here.

Housing Workshop

Thursday, Sept 19th 6:30 PM:  We need affordable homes for all of Placer County's residents.  The Alliance for Environmental Leadership leads a discussion on what's needed for sustainable housing justice in our area.  Read more on the AEL website hereAt the Placer County Community Development Resource Center (map here).
