Philly Counts 2020 to Train 1,000 people as Census Champions


WHAT:
Philly Counts 2020 is launching on Constitution Day its Census Champion Program, aimed to prepare 1,000 Philadelphians to talk effectively about the census in their communities.

DETAILS:
The Census Champion Training is a unique 90-minute session designed to prepare people with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively and accurately answer questions about the 2020 Census. Philly Counts alongside community partners will host over 50 training sessions across the city in English, Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Korean, reaching out to all communities and demographics.
 
Temple University, University of Pennsylvania, Community College of Philadelphia, Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians, Ceiba, PHL Diversity (PHLCVB), Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, Congreso, and Southwest CDC are among the locations where the training will take place. A map displaying all public training locations can be found here.
 
After September 17, opportunities for Census Champion training will continue. Organizations and people interested in hosting or participating in a working session can request it by completing the form on Philly Counts’ website.
