On October 15, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act (FVPSA) will celebrate thirty-five years of creating a pathway to safety for survivors of domestic violence and their children. FVPSA provides the primary federal funding stream dedicated to the support of emergency shelter and supportive services for victims of domestic violence and their dependents.
Join us for the free webinar, 35 Years of FVPSA: Safe Services and Stronger Community Connections for All, as we reflect on 35 years of FVPSA and highlight accomplishments in supporting domestic violence survivors and their children within local communities and sovereign nations. Speakers will celebrate the successes of domestic violence programs while recognizing that the need for services and supports remains as great as ever.
For 35 years the Department of Health and Human Services, Family Violence Prevention and Services Program has improved the capacity of health and social service agencies’ responses to domestic violence through comprehensive training and technical assistance. The FVPSA Program’s capacity building has resulted in system improvements; increased knowledge sharing; and community level coordination among domestic violence programs, health, and social service agencies.
