Water Resources Report Coming in 2020
We've had some scheduling conflicts arise that require us to postpone the upcoming release of the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment Water Resources report and our community briefing in Fort Wayne. We look forward to setting a new release date in early 2020.

Let's Talk Climate Change This Thanksgiving
Everywhere we go we get asked the question "What can I do about climate change?" One simple, effective, and inexpensive action that we can all take is to talk about climate change with our friends and family. And what better time to strike up a climate conversation than Thanksgiving.

Can talking about it really make a difference? Yes! Research from the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and the George Mason Center for Climate Change Communication show that Americans who talk about global warming with their own family and friends are more likely to perceive it as a risk and support policies to reduce it.

Worried about starting a food fight? A recent survey from the Environmental Resilience Institute found that 85% of Hoosiers say they feel comfortable talking about climate change with family and friends.

Willing to talk but not sure where to start? Visit the Resources page from the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment. You'll find strategies for effectively talking about climate change (like this video below from the Alliance for Climate Education), links to climate science facts from NASA and others, resources about personal and community solutions, and much more.

Share Your Stories of Change
Climate change is personal, affecting each of us in unique ways. Through the Stories of Change series we are exploring what climate change means in the day-to-day lives of Hoosiers, and those living around the world.

The Purdue Climate Change Research Center invites you to share your Stories of Change. Tell us how our changing climate affects your hobbies, lifestyle, and/or livelihood. What changes have you observed? What impacts have you faced? What does climate change mean to you, now and in the future? Email us at pccrc@purdue.edu or submit your story via our website.
Issue Brief for Policymakers
The Purdue Climate Change Research Center has developed an Issue Brief for Policymakers summarizing the risks and impacts facing Indiana residents, infrastructure and ecosystems. The brief features key findings from the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment and explains why (and how) our decisions today matter.

Did you know?

Earlier this year we welcomed Dr. Beth Hall to Purdue University where she now serves as the Indiana State Climatologist and Director of the Indiana State Climate Office (IN-SCO). The IN-SCO collects and maintains historical weather observations that are critical to understanding our state's shifting climate. The IN-SCO also provides real-time access to weather data, climate summary maps, and various tools that help keep Hoosiers safe and productive.

Beth is no stranger to the Midwest, or Indiana. Prior to being appointed Indiana State Climatologist, she was the director of the Midwestern Regional Climate Center (Champaign, Illinois), and she received her bachelor's degree in physical geography with an emphasis in meteorology in 1994 from Indiana University (Bloomington, Indiana). Beth is also a co-author on the IN CCIA report Indiana's Past and Future Climate.
About Us:

Led by the Purdue Climate Change Research Center, the Indiana Climate Change Impacts Assessment (IN CCIA) is a statewide effort that brings the best available climate change research together into a series of reports designed to help Hoosiers better understand climate change-related risks so they can prepare for challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
