Tuesday, October 1 - Delmar United National Night Out - 5-8pm at the corner of Delmar and Euclid - National Night Out 5pm-8pm at Delmar and Euclid! There will be food trucks, BMX bike stunts, climbing wall, bubble bus, photo booth, basketball challenge, football toss, air dancers, and so much more! The NSI will have a table and we'll be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers. We hope to see you there!
Tuesday, October 1 - Left Bank Books - 7-9p  Ann Leckie: The Raven's Tower - Left Bank Books presents an event with award-winning St. Louis author Ann Leckie, who will sign and discuss her novel, "The Raven Tower!"
Wednesday, October 2 - Gamlin Whiskey House - 7-9pm - Women In Whiskey - On the first Wednesday of every month, raise a glass with us and your fellow women who whiskey! October's dinner, hosted by Carey Price and Madi Keller, will introduce you to our current GWH single barrel spirits, including Knob Creek, Maker's Mark Private Select and Caribou Crossing Canadian Whisky. Thursday, October 3 - Bowood Farms - Autumnal Herbalist - 3-4pm - As the height of the growing season comes to a close, many gardeners are left questioning exactly what to do with their abundance of herbs. Autumn can often be a race against the clock, trying to harvest and use the gifts from the garden before the first frost. In this class, Bowood’s Drew Dinges will explore the art of harvesting, drying and utilizing herbs. Attendees will learn unique and innovative ways to reap the benefits of their herbal harvest, along with fun and interesting facts about 25 commonly grown herbs. Price: $10. Taught by Drew Dinges. Thursday, October 3 - World Chess Hall of Fame - Composer Series: STL Made - Angie Smart and Theo Bockhorst - Originally from England, Angie Smart joined the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) in 1998, having graduated with a Masters in Music Performance from Rice University the same year. Angie began her violin studies at the age of six, winning a scholarship to the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music at thirteen before moving to the U.S. at the age of 18 to complete her education. Smart has performed extensively throughout Europe and the U.S. and has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including several performances with the SLSO, most notably under the baton of the late Music Director Hans Vonk, and SLSO’s resident conductor Gemma New. Reservations are required. $10 tickets available for members, seniors, and military. $20 General Admission.
Saturday, October 5 - Bowood Farms - An Introduction to Canning with Cafe Osage - 10a-12p - Learn the ins-and-outs of canning with the chefs of Cafe Osage. You will work alongside the chefs as they demonstrate canning three pantry staples: jam, pickles and sauerkraut. Enjoy the preserves with a cheese and charcuterie board accompanied with wine. You’ll go home with your three jars, along with recipe cards.

This class will offer tons of information on the benefits of each ingredient and the importance of detoxifying your body and mind along with self-care tips. Saturday, October 26 - St. Louis' most legendary Halloween street party returns to the Central West End Scene (CWEscene) on Saturday, Oct. 26! Festivities kick off with fun daytime activities for the whole family. Then, as the sun sets, the party continues with an adults-only bash and costume contest, known for its elaborate, complex and outrageous costumes and featuring $6,000 in cash and prizes! Cathedral Concerts announces their 2019 - 2020 season - Saint Louis Cathedral Concerts, an independent nonprofit that brings sacred and classical music to St. Louis from world-class musicians, releases its concert lineup for the 27th season. The 2019-2020 season kicks off Monday, July 29th at 8:00pm, and continues through Friday, April 21st, 2020. The series of live concerts will showcase notable musicians in one of the world’s most striking cathedrals, the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis located at 4431 Lindell Blvd.
