Promote Your Business Locally with Tombstone 5K Sponsorship

There’s still time to take advantage of a fantastic sponsorship opportunity and support a popular community event, the Tombstone 5K. This family friendly 5K organized by local retailer Running Excels is open to runners and walkers. It takes place on Saturday, October 19, at 8:30 a.m. in the Mt. Greenwood Cemetery. Here are two great ways to promote your business with the Tombstone 5K:
  1. Contribute promotional material to the swag bags that participating runners will receive at the race! Running Excels expects to have some 400 registered runners who will receive bags filled with promotional material, coupons, and other goodies. The deadline for swag bag donations is Wednesday, October 9. To contribute, send an email to Erin Ross.
  2. Become a race sponsor and have your business name printed on the hoodies that participants will receive. Complete the attached sponsorship form and/or email Erin Ross with your information.

Show Jimmy Jamm’s Some Love After a Setback This Weekend

Thanks to all who have stopped in at Jimmy Jamm’s this month. Unfortunately, they suffered another setback over the weekend, when someone threw a rock at the front entrance, then ransacked the store. The 95th Street Business Association is working closely with the 22nd Police District on this incident. Please remember to call 911 if you see any suspicious behavior on 95th Street.

Meanwhile, we ask again that fellow business owners and community members make a special effort to patronize Jimmy Jamm’s. They are located at 1844 West 95th Street and are open from 10 am to 7 pm. Please note that they are conducting cash only sales until they are able to replace their cash register, which was stolen during the robbery

Many Hands Made Light Work for Slice of 95th Street

A huge shout out to all who helped make the 95th Street hub such a successful part of the Beverly Art Walk on September 21. Special thanks to Two Mile Coffee Bar and Terence Van Wade for their leadership. We are also indebted to Alderman Matt O’Shea for underwriting pizza from Peace of Pizza for art walk patrons to enjoy. In addition, we want to thank Jeff Pinzino for helping our business association book a great band. Finally, thanks to our host of the space on 95th Street, Jeff Barry.
