Join us at Whittier Farms this Sunday, October 6th from 11am-2pm for OPEN FARM SUNDAY! Enjoy Cabot Creamery Cooperative Cheese, samples of great products to add to your cheese boards, our tractor safety demonstration, and our homemade mac and cheese for lunch. At 1pm, we'll have a milking demonstration for all ages to get an up close look!

Scouts can earn a Cabot Scout Patch for attending Open Farm Sunday. If you'd like more information for your troop, den, or pack, please email us by Friday so our staff is prepared to engage with your Scouts!

If you're not local to Whittier Farms, you can visit other participating Cabot Creamery Cooperatives on Open Farm Sunday. Find a farm near you by visiting: https://www.cabotcheese.coop/our-farm-families
On September 19th, John and Lauren welcomed their son, Kolton Oakley Whittier. We imagine it won't be too long before Kolton is riding in the equipment! Kolton is the 6th generation at Whittier Farms.
What October Holds At The Farm

Corn harvest is complete (we'll provide more information in our next newsletter) so our crops team will focus on getting nutrients on the corn ground. As we work to replenish the soil, we will also do our best to get a third and maybe a fourth cutting of grass silage off our grass fields before the season is done. We continue to harvest pumpkins and cornstalks; available for purchase at our farm store. Inside the store, local apples and apple cider steal the headlines. We also have Pumpkin and Pumpkin Oreo ice cream from Maple Valley Creamery and the new Dough Your Job New England Patriots Ice Cream from Gifford's!
Our Thanksgiving Holiday Order will be released later this month as well.

Our farm store is open 9am-7pm daily through October.
EVEN MORE FUN AT WHITTIER FARMS

October 11th is our Annual Fall Storytime with the Sutton Library at 10:30am. Bring your little ones to gather in our pumpkin tent for storytime, fall wagon rides, and a fall craft.

December 7th is Christmas On The Farm, our annual Christmas traditon with the Sutton Chain of Lights. From 10am-4pm, you can explore Sutton in your vehicle or by trolley to support your local businesses and organizations. At the farm, bundle up for winter hayrides, warm-up inside with samples of our farm store products, and for lunch, the Westborough Chick-fil-a truck is coming back to the farm!! Locally owned, the Westborough Chick-fil-a maintains the company's mission to being involved and giving back to the community. We are excited to have them join our event again.

On October 25th, we're heading over to Millbury for the Millbury Fire Department Lady Auxillary's Harvest Wine and Beer Tasting. Held at the VFW in Millbury, we look forward to supporting our neighbors in Millbury as a vendor for the evening.
