New Amber Packaging
Perhaps you've used our facial oil before or, if not, you might have seen cosmetic products packed into violet glass (it looks very dark - almost black). The violet glass helps protect the product from degradation caused by light, however, we have been questioning the use of this glass for some time for quite a few reasons.
- The glass is thick and heavy, making it a poor choice for travel.
- Recycling may not be assured, as some facilities do not process non-conventional glass types.
- The violet glass is relatively expensive, pushing up the end price of products.
We believe that traditional amber glass is the best choice for our facial range (and more ranges to come) as it still protects products from light over the period of months the product is in use. It is also lighter to travel with and is readily accepted for recycling. The slim profile of our new amber glass packaging is both stylish and packs neatly into small packages, allowing us to deliver exceptional quality and value to our clients.
Additional Special Ingredient for our Nourishing Face Oil
Updating to new amber glass packaging meant new labels, giving us the perfect opportunity to add a very special ingredient to our facial oil - Coenzyme Q10. The essential oil scent blend was also extended to provide an even more luxurious sensory experience.
Coenzyme Q10 is a powerful antioxidant, naturally found in our bodies. Environmental stress and ageing both deplete CoQ10. Studies have shown that topical application of Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10) increases antioxidant levels and decreases free radicals. This function helps to prevent inflammation, wrinkling and loss of firmness.

I started buying the 3 in 1 soap for my dad a while ago and he loves it. They smell great, which is important as he doesn't like smells that are artificial or overpowering. My father is an organic farmer so likes to use products that are natural as possible, again this soap fits the bill. A great product.

The Cure Line
We love working with natural clays and botanicals for colour but it reminds us that what we make is ever changing. What starts as more vibrant shades of indigo and green clay slowly fades as the soap cures (a term that describes the drying, hardening and maturing of the soap). Even the chlorophyll, naturally present in the extra virgin olive oil fades from green to cream over time.
The line you see on these bars, which we've cut for guest bars, is where the soap is currently cured to (drying from the outside inwards). We want to see the cure line make it all the way to the centre so that you get the longest life out of your bars. Cutting it like this speeds up the process and it's a handy reminder that you can also cut your bars if you want to ration them for travel or to prevent wastage (we all know the sadness that comes from letting the plug out and finding a full sized soggy soap bar). Small pieces, especially for kids, helps prevent that problem.
If you want to practise your 'Granny Skills' it's a good idea to purchase your bars in bulk and give them even more time to dry when you receive them. You get to enjoy the lovely scent while they cure and are rewarded with a long lasting soap bar.

When we purchase ingredients from further afield we place great emphasis on using ethical, organic, fair trade and sustainably produced raw ingredients. Our packaging is biodegradable, recycled and recyclable where possible.
Our products include cold pressed edible oils,butters and milks, extracts, infusions, activated and whole botanicals along with clays, honey, fruit and vegetables. Basically, ingredients you can recognise, most of which are edible.
