Space Bridge to link
Australia and UK space industries

Australia and the United Kingdom will strengthen their industry ties through the formation of a Space Bridge, which will lay the foundations for future space-related trade opportunities.

The Space Bridge will be a joint effort between the Australian Space Agency, UK Space Agency, Austrade, and the UK Department for International Trade. It was announced on Tuesday 24 September at the UK Space Conference in Wales.

Head of the Australian Space Agency Dr Megan Clark AC said she looked forward to the increased opportunities that the Space Bridge would provide.

Agency signs with Tasmania

The Australian Space Agency has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tasmanian Government. This MoU will support Tasmania’s existing capabilities, propose areas for expansion and leverage these to grow Australia’s wider space industry. Read more >

Gravity Challenge has lift off

Launched during the SA Space Forum this week, the challenge is open for registrations seeking gravity-defying solutions. Pick one of 8 industries, build a team, be imaginative and launch! Teams have 6 weeks to complete their challenge. Winning teams will have access to commercialisation strategy and incubation support to help scale offerings in market. To register or find out more visit gravitychallenge.space

$150m to support space industry growth

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, NASA Deputy Administrator Jim Morhard, and Head of the Australian Space Agency, Dr. Megan Clark AC.

The Australian Space Agency and NASA have launched a new partnership on future space cooperation. This includes the opportunity for Australia to join the United States’ Moon to Mars exploration approach, including NASA’s Artemis lunar program.

The Australian Government is investing $150 million over five years for Australian businesses and researchers to join NASA’s endeavour, and deliver key capabilities for the mission.
