Pastor's Corner
“The Bible is…” just do a Google search for that statement and see what you find. The top two results paint opposing pictures. The Bible is the Word of God. The Bible is fiction. What do you think? How would you complete the phrase?

In October at Elm Springs United Methodist Church we’ll be centering our Sunday morning worship and teaching on the assertion that Sola Scriptura (Latin for “only Scripture”) has final authority for the Church. Click below to see Pastors entire article:

Family Ministries

Announcing

Youth and Children's Coordinators

Youth Coordinator: Matt Slavik

My name is Matt Slavik.  I'm a child of the King and doing my best to master the Master's life.  I love encouraging and investing in others.  I'm far too competitive and love to play sports and games of all kinds.  My nephews are the two cutest kiddos in the world!

I plan on serving and investing in the youth and helping ESUMC use media as a means to be creative and please the Lord.

Children's Coordinator: Denise Crutchfield:

I was born in Dodge City, Kansas in 1964 and grew up in southern Arkansas. Throughout my life, I have always been fascinated with children and art. My interest cultivated during my teenage years and further developed when I opted to get a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and minor in Art. I retired from Rogers, AR after 30 years of teaching. Eleven of the thirty years was spent as a curriculum facilitator in Rogers, AR.  As a facilitator, I facilitated professional learning for the teachers and for the district, developing elementary curriculum, and fostered instructional practices to improve teaching and learning.
My hope for the future of Children’s Church and Sunday School at Elm Springs United Methodist Church would be to create a passion for Children’s Church and Sunday School that brings the teachers and the students closer to Jesus and to each other. I hope to empower myself, the teachers, and the students to work together as a team. I hope we can accomplish a few common steps together.
1. Make Sunday School one of the most important ministry in the Church.
2. Declare Sunday School a soul winning ministry.
3. Mention Sunday School often from the pulpit.
4. Use a reward system in the Sunday School Classes.
5. As team leaders I hope we will visit our Sunday school students outside of the church often.
There is an old saying that “Seeing is believing.” Don’t believe it. Believing is seeing. It is what you believe about Sunday School that determines how you see Sunday School and how you see Sunday School determines how you lead it.

Pray for those who might not be "church" people to feel God's warmth and love, and feel welcomed into our church home. Your prayers are as important as our physical work to set up and run the sale.
