Gentlemen,

With only 2 weeks left before Pirate Fest there is a lot of work still needed to get the traveling floats ready to roll.
The  Barn will open the next two Wednesdays. This Wednesday 10/2 will be a work night  and the bead room will be open for bead sales. Wednesday 10/9 is a full Social with food, bead sales and loading the floats for PCB.

The Pirates of the High Seas Festival in Panama City is always a great weekend of fun and parading. We kick off the night on Friday with the Kids Parade followed by the Second Line Pirate Crawl Parade (Wear your Krewe Costume, full or summer) that stages at the Back Porch. The Kids parade kicks off at 6pm and the second line parade starts at 7pm. You can participate in the Second Line Pirate Pub Crawl and the Kids love it. Light up throws, swords, and krewe footballs are a big hit.

On Saturday there will be activities going on all day including a Tailgate Party behind Target ($20 per person)
The main parade begins at 5pm sharp in the area behind Target. Please remember that this is a Family Weekend and float music MUST be family appropriate. If you have an adult drink, please make sure it is inside an opaque container.

FLOATS
We will be traveling with the Sword and the Raven II. There will not be sign-up sheets for this parade. It is first come, first served. Our two floats will be staged behind the Target store at Pier Park on Friday. As a general rule, they will not allow POV's to enter the area on  on Saturday. You will need to bribe the gatekeeper or find a place to park nearby and walk to the parade staging area. The parade will end here as this is the start finish area.

The main membership float for Saturday's parade is the Sword. The Float Captain and his mates will have the upper deck and the main deck is available for all members.

The Raven II is the Court float/ membership float. The upper deck is reserved for Lafitte, Queen Pam, and their spouses. The lower deck is reserved for Court members first, then krewe members. If there is a vacancy on the float due a Court member not attending the parade, that spot is available for a member of the krewe to fill. After all Court members and krewe members have secured a spot to ride, any available riding spots can be filled by a spouse of a court member as long as all krewe members wanting to ride have a spot and the spouse is dressed in pirate or equivalent attire.

This is a very fun weekend and the weather looks like it is going to cooperate this year. Have fun and remember you are representing the Krewe of Lafitte.
