NSCF SUMMER SOLSTICE ORGANIC NIGHT MARKET LAUNCH and 25th BIRTHDAY
We will be celebrating our Silver Jubilee at the Summer Solstice Night Market, launching the Farm's Monthly Friday Night Organic Markets. We are very excited!

The Summer Solstice Organic Night market will be a FREE family friendly event dishing up delicious organic meals from some of Brisbane's best Organic Street Food vendors. Fresh organic juices, smoothies, refreshing drinks and desserts will be on offer. Vegans and gluten free lifestyles will be amply catered for. There will also be a range of ethical gift stalls for those wanting to get something ethical for a loved one for Christmas. Fresh organic produce will be available too!

It's going to be a mid-summer night to remember. The evening will start with a community drumming circle, followed by a solstice ceremony to honour the sun. We are very excited to announce that the Vanua Fire will be performing!
Vanua Fire is a fire dancing troupe hailing from Vanuatu, performing a spectacular show of fire twirling, fire breathing and acrobatics. Vanua Fire performs with specialised fire twirling equipment, to produce a high energy fire show for all ages. With over 7 years of nightly performances and tours, we are thrilled to be able to host them for a Brisbane show before they head off to Woodford!.

There will also be a farm retrospective, environmental trivia, life drawing, earth arts for the kids and a chance to dance to some tunes from 1994, the year the Farm started. We hope you can contribute to a working timeline on the night to share your memories and experiences at the Farm over the last 25 years. We will also be giving deep thanks to the elders in our community, some of whom helped to start the Farm and still continue to volunteer here every week.

EARTH KIDS

The Earth Kids Homeschool program and the Spring Earth Kids school holiday program were a great success. At the Spring holiday program we had a bird focus, so the children learnt lots about local birds and got some practice at identifying them so they can participate in the upcoming Aussie Backyard Bird count.

The homeschool program had a tree focus this year so we learnt lots about local trees, tried out some nature journaling and planted a bunya tree. At both programs we also learnt about animals at the farm, built shelters, played lots of games and much more.

SUMMER EARTH KIDS
The Summer Earth Kids school holiday program is now open for bookings. It’s running from Tuesday December 17th to Thursday the 19th. Join us for some outdoor Earth time, learning and fun! Early bird tickets will close on the 25th of November.

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM DAY EVENTS
To celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day which falls on November 7th, we are holding a professional development workshop for teachers, plus offering discounts for school visits.
