CANADIAN MUSIC CLASS CHALLENGE
CBC Music in association with MusiCounts organizes a contest to engage music classes across the country with Canadian music, The Canadian Music Class Challenge.
Each year they pre-approve a list of Canadian songs, then ask music teachers to pick one and teach their classes a cover version. It could be a note-for-note cover, or you can make it something completely your own.

CREATION ACCELERATOR
The Canada Council for the Arts is proud to announce that it has teamed up with CBC/Radio-Canada to offer an exciting new initiative, called the Creation Accelerator. The program is designed to support the development, creation and sharing of original digital content for potential distribution on CBC/Radio-Canada’s digital platforms.
What types of projects will be funded?
We’ll be looking for proposals for unique and boundary-pushing content, with the potential to engage a broad audience or underserved public. Consider pitching your idea for a podcast, web series, short doc, digital graphic novel, experimental dance video, sound art, animation and more. This is your opportunity to think outside the box!
When is the deadline?
The deadline for the first phase of the Creation Accelerator will be October 16, 2019.

ACCÉLÉRATEUR DE CRÉATION
Le Conseil des arts du Canada est fier d’annoncer son partenariat avec CBC/Radio-Canada afin d’offrir, à compter de l’été, une nouvelle initiative, appelée L’accélérateur de création. Le programme est conçu pour appuyer le développement, la création et le partage de contenu numérique original qui pourrait être diffusé sur les plateformes de CBC/Radio-Canada.
Quels types de projets seront financés?
Nous privilégierons les demandes qui proposent du contenu unique et repoussant les limites et qui ont le potentiel d’intéresser un vaste public ou groupe négligé. Proposez votre idée pour une baladodiffusion, une série web, un court documentaire, une bande dessinée numérique, une vidéo de danse expérimentale, de l’art sonore, une animation ou tout autre projet. Saisissez l’occasion de sortir des sentiers battus!

BANFF INTERNATIONAL SONGWRITER RESIDENCY
This 20-day residency provides songwriters an opportunity to explore their artistic practice alongside award-winning faculty.
The Banff International Songwriter Residency offers one-on-one sessions and group workshops with faculty, performance opportunities, and recording sessions in a state-of-the-art recording facility.
A personal studio space to work from is provided and available 24 hours a day. Production spaces are shared among all participants in the residency.
Scholarship is available of up to 100% to cover tuition.
