11+ drop in coffee morning
It was lovely to see so many parents at our 11+ drop in coffee morning on Tuesday. For those of you who were unable to attend, please find attached two "Top Tips" sheets - one for Year 5 and one for Year 6. I do hope you find them helpful.
Should you have further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Hawkins: lhawkins@westongreenschool.org.uk. Top tips for Year 5 view here and for Year 6 view here
Skipping ropes - If you haven't yet ordered a skipping rope but would still like to, the deadline is tomorrow morning. Order form here
Holiday clubs this October half term - Due to numerous contractors working on site we will not be able to run any clubs this half term for health and safety reasons. There will, however, be a club running for a week during the Christmas holidays. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Google Classroom - Details for how to access Google Classroom have been sent to your class reps. You can also find the details here
Remembrance Day
By Friday 4th October: We gratefully ask parents to remind children to bring to school one or two pre-cut plastic bottle bottom (that should look like these, already cut): view here
They will be made into poppies before half term for an outdoor display on Remembrance Day!
By 9th October: We ask parents if they could help provide us a photo/photos of a relative(s) of their child, who fought for their country in any war in our history for the Remembrance Day display. If they could be labelled with name and relation to the WGS pupil. eg “Sergeant John Smith - Great Grandfather of Anabel Smith” “Nurse Felicity Teller - Great Great Grandmother of Louis Marks”, we’ll have a very thoughtful and personalised Remembrance display.
(These are best received as copies of the original only, and given to class teachers or emailed directly to Head of Art: nwillis@westongreenschool.org.uk by Wednesday 9th Oct)
Bottle tops/lids and caps needed
As you know we are collecting bottle tops/lids and caps of different colours and sizes this term and The Art Pod will design and build attractive, child friendly recycling bins for the corridor in the main building where the art hangs to collect them in. They will be used for an outdoor mosaic plan for spring term. Please start collecting.
