Landscape Revitalization

Road Preservation
(aka "Crack Seal")

The city delayed the "road preservation work" -- commonly referred to as "crack sealing" -- due to the rain. You should see door-hanger notices when the city's contractor will be in each area. Some work started yesterday, and will continue perhaps another week or so.

Winter Grass Prep

The rain last week delayed the over-seeding, which was finally done yesterday by Stillwater, our landscape vendor.

Please try to avoid the turf areas this week and next week, to give the seed a chance to "settle in" and take root.

Bulk and Holiday Trash Info

Bulk trash is not this week -- and not next week either! Please don't put out bulk trash items early!!

Bulk trash dates: Mon-Fri Oct 14-18

And no holiday trash/recycle days in October... even though October 14 is Columbus Day. It's a federal holiday... banks, posts offices, and many government offices are closed -- but Avondale's public works activity is not affected.

Block Wall Painting

The crew from EmpireWorks has been out painting the common area block walls over the last couple of weeks. This is wrapping up and should be completed shortly.

October Board Meeting

The regular board meeting for this month is scheduled for Wednesday October 23 at 7pm. The Design Review Committee meets just before, starting at 6:30pm. Homeowners are welcome to attend either or both meetings.

Note for November/December: We'll have a board meeting on November 20, and then no meeting in December.

Reserve Study Completed

A Reserve Study lists the assets of the association -- things like playground areas, irrigation systems, and solar lighting -- and documents the maintenance activities that should be performed on them on a recurring basis.

This is an important document to the association, since it includes financial information about the projected maintenance costs for the next 25 years.
