Thank you for stopping by the Augusta Jewish Museum Table at Arts at the Heart of Augusta

This year's Arts in the Heart of Augusta was a great success thanks to visitors like you! We enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and talk with you about the exciting future for the Augusta Jewish Museum, a center of education for all. Sometime in 2020, we will open Phase I of the Court of Ordinary building on Telfair Street with programs to support The Four Pillars of Learning at the Augusta Jewish Museum

Rosh HaShana, the Jewish New Year

On September 29, the 10 days of awe begins with Rosh HaShana, the celebration of the Jewish new year 5780. The solemn nature of the High Holy Days encourages contemplation of the themes presented in the prayers and readings, remembrance of deceased loved ones and asking forgiveness from those we wronged during the year.

Apples and Honey are typically eaten during this time to sweeten the New Year. The New Years' greeting is "Shana Tova" meaning Good Year.
