The 2017 tax bill included a section titled “Investing in Opportunity Act”, which established Opportunity Zones and Opportunity Funds. In this session, a panel of experts will address:
  • What are opportunity zones?
  • How are opportunity zones created?
  • Why were they created?
  • Where are opportunity zones?
  • What are the financial mechanics of opportunity zones?
  • What are tax advantages in opportunity zones?
  • Is an Opportunity Zone a real or intangible asset and how should the impact of the zone be treated in valuations of projects?
  • Discussion of real world examples of actual projects.
