In August, Bay Area Barns and Trails (BABT) attended the inspiring Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District meeting regarding Regional Trail Planning Efforts and Partnerships, and had an informational table at San Mateo County Parks Foundation's Coyote Nights.
In September, BABT enjoyed the wonderful energy at the East Bay Hills Benefit Ride, sharing our mission with riders and hikers at our outdoor table.
On October 13, BABT will have a table at Woodside's Day of the Horse Fair and we hope to see you there!

BABT is growing a coalition of Horse Organizations representing ever larger numbers, with increased impact to help when issues arise. BABT provides a rare asset for the equestrian community, and has assisted Bay Area equestrian projects by awarding over $350,000 in grants. Help us celebrate many more future successes and show your support!

Grant Application Deadline: November 1
Bay Area Barns and Trails' (BABT) standard maximum grant ranges up to $2,500 for projects without matching funds and $5,000 for projects with matching funds. Projects that meet BABT’s mission and serve the public in significant ways may be considered for larger grants. Learn more about our Grant Program here.

Access Adventure working on the shade structure.

• Access Adventure: Nearing completion! BABT funds helped build a shade structure over a hitching area near the wheelchair ramp & platform.
|

Another successful Blues in the Barn fundraiser!

• Ocean Riders of Marin: BABT's matching grant for drainage and construction of a covered arena was matched and beyond at the recent Blues in the Barn fundraiser!
|
|
|
• San Mateo County Parks Foundation: Great news, the bridge is open to equestrians! A grant from BABT helped fund the Towne Creek Bridge replacement in Pescadero Creek County Park. This project was a collaborative effort with other equestrian organizations and volunteers assisting. Learn more about this project here.

• TWHA: East Bay Hills Trails Benefit Ride. Another successful event benefitting the Bay Area Ridge Trail, V-O-Cal and other East Bay trail projects. A huge shout out of appreciation to BABT's Morris Older who helps organize the event every year. BABT was well represented with Board members Janice Frazier and Marilynn Terstegge at BABT's informational table!

Pine Ridge/Henry W. Coe State Park: BABT funds were granted to develop and maintain back county water resources for horses and wildlife. Here's a video of volunteers hauling equipment, including a horse trough for the spring.

Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District’s Board of Directors is holding a public meeting on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 5 p.m. at 330 Distel Circle, Los Altos, CA 94022. Midpen’s Board of Directors will consider and vote on: 1) Whether to pursue a private fundraising endeavor for Bear Creek Stables. 2) Whether to continue pursuing additional large-scale public access improvements identified in the 2017 Bear Creek Stables site plan.
