Musings from a WTWS Board Member – Kathryn Thomas

As I begin my year as Vice-President, "President-In-Training", I want to thank Jan Pate and Martha Hunnicutt for the wonderful job they are doing as Vice-Presidents of Exhibits.  They are quickly "learning the ropes" and bring good energy and ideas to this, my former, position.

As our Fall Show is in progress, it's not too early to be painting for our Winter Show.  Check-in will be November 12th.  The Buddy Holly Center requires us to have a music theme this year, but we wanted to do something that would allow us as much freedom as possible for our artists.  So this is our theme, along with some brief thoughts as to ways you might run with it...

"What's Music to YOUR Soul?"

a guitar solo, a favorite song that you can't hear enough, or the song of geese overhead as they fly in formation...

a beautiful flower bouquet, a day at the beach or mountain hideaway, a loved family member or pet, a striking sunset or starlit sky...

Thinking more abstractly,

a feeling of peace, joy, contentment, wonder, accomplishment, fill-in-the-blank...

We know you'll have other great ideas and we look forward to seeing your interpretations of "What's Music to YOUR Soul?".

Kathryn
