E-Vehicles Are Coming

Invest in your lifts now!

The batteries provide some of the biggest challenges for workshops, not only from a technical point of view but also accessibility. In many cases, conventional 2 post lifts may not be suitable, and must either be modified or replaced.  Any modification must comply with relevant legislation. 

As a result, Consul have introduced a series of lifts for E vehicles and special arms which can be retrofitted to some existing lifts. 

The 3.5t Premium, HD Flex and HD Pro models can be supplied with special arms developed for lifting of microcars up to SUVs, from a wide variety of models and manufacturers e.g. the Audi Etron at the specific pick-up points. The offset swing arm geometry allows for easy installation or removal of batteries underneath the vehicle. The arms are also suitable for lifting conventional cars. 

The Z8805 scissor lifting table from Consul can be fitted with an adapter frame enabling the fitting and removal of batteries.

A new development from Consul is the 2.35 Double System Chassis available as an option on 2.45 lifts. The lift is designed to pick up small vehicles up to prestige vehicles such as the S-Class or the BMW 7-Series. The advantage is that the same lift has both conventional swing arms and wheel supports.  This enables conventional service work and battery changes to be done on the same lift without any more space being required.

Electric or hybrid vehicles can be picked up safely by the wheel support system for jobs that require completely clear access to the bottom of the car, which can be folded away when using the conventional swing arms for wheel free lifting.
