World’s thinnest wearable heat pack, designed by team led by alumnus Charlie Katrycz, named National Winner of James Dyson Award

Alumnus Charlie Katrycz (MIE MEng 1T8) led the team that developed Undu, the world’s thinnest wearable heat pack to ease menstrual pain. The flexible, form-fitting device for pain relief is gaining more exposure after being named a National Winner of the James Dyson Award. The award recognizes design engineers all over the world for inventions that solve problems, and Katrycz’s heating pad is Canada’s top project.
