Living Our Moral Imperative

Rev. Dr. Linda Barnes, Worship Leader
Sarah Dan Jones, Music Director

Moral expectations change and the moral expectations of our time are up to us. What are the moral imperatives of Unitarian Universalists? How might we better live our religious imperative in our lives and with each other so that together, we leave more love in the world.

Starr King Book Group - Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday October 7th at 3:00 pm. The book selected is Paris in the Present Tense by the great novelist Mark Helprin. We picked this by looking at a list of books recommended for every year of life. We figured the average age of our group was about 74 and the book recommended for that age is this recent acclaimed novel by Helprin.
From Amazon: The New York Times best-selling author of Winter's Tale and A Soldier of the Great War, Mark Helprin reveals a powerful, rapturous novel set in a present-day Paris caught between violent unrest and its well-known, inescapable glories. Seventy-four-year-old Jules Lacour - a maître at Paris-Sorbonne, cellist, widower, veteran of the war in Algeria, and child of the Holocaust - must find a balance between his strong obligations to the past and the attractions and beauties of life and love in the present.
I hope you will join us on the 7th for what is sure to be a stimulating conversation.

More than 600 community members where joined by our choir, members, friends, members of our youth group (past and current), videographers Forrest Seavey and Bob Lindstrom, sign makers and carriers.  Amanda Vansant started the event by reading some of Greta's powerful words which was followed by a call to action from our own Rev. Linda. Thanks to Howard Frederick for recording her words.
