PRESS RELEASE: BID Announces Pamela Nieto as Director of Marketing & Communications

WASHINGTON, D.C.— Pamela Nieto joined the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) on Sept. 30 as the new director of marketing and communications. Nieto will be leading the BID’s creative efforts—including branding, communications, marketing and events.  


“We are excited to welcome Pamela to our team to lead marketing and communications for the organization,” said BID President & CEO Neil Albert. “Her experience and creativity will help the BID find new and innovative ways to communicate with our stakeholders and attract more visitors to DowntownDC.” 


“I’m thrilled to be joining a fantastic team of thoughtful leaders and support the BID’s mission in making DowntownDC a world-class destination,” said Nieto. “This opportunity will allow me to contribute to the economic development and growth of DowntownDC through all of the BID’s programs and initiatives.” 

 

Nieto is an innovative multicultural and bilingual communications professional with over nine years of experience in integrated marketing communications. Prior to joining the BID, Nieto was an account supervisor at Hager Sharp where she managed and led social marketing campaigns for federal agencies in the health sector. Furthermore, from 2012–2016 she worked as the director of marketing and communications for the Greater Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (GWHCC). In this role, she created, managed and implemented an integrated multicultural marketing communications strategy to position the organization prominently in the Greater Washington region. Pamela has a Digital Marketing Certificate from Georgetown University and a B.A. in advertising from The Art Institute of Washington.

The DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) was founded in 1997 and is a private non-profit organization that provides capital improvements, resources and research that keep the BID area clean, safe, economically and environmentally strong and accessible. The DowntownDC BID is a catalyst, facilitator and thought leader in diversifying the economy, promoting public/private partnerships and enhancing the DowntownDC experience for all. This special district, where property owners have agreed to tax themselves to fund services, encompasses a 138-block area of approximately 520 properties from Massachusetts Avenue on the north to Constitution Avenue on the south, and from Louisiana Avenue on the east to 16th Street on the west.
