Autumn Update

New Holistic Studio and Classes

 
We are in the process of rearranging the existing circuit studio into an exciting Holistic studio which will enable us to add more Classes to the timetable especially at peak times in order to offer Members further variety to our extensive programme.

We anticipate an opening date in November so look out for further announcements in the Club and on our website where the extra classes will be available to see.

We are also providing a roof between the studios to provide shelter during inclement weather.

Staff Update

We are pleased to announce that Sandra, who has been with us for over 5 years, has recently been appointed to the Front of House Manager.

You will also see some new faces in the Reception team as we welcome Victoria, Nicola and Janet.

We also welcome Rebecca into our Fitness department and Steve and Karen into our Membership Department.

If you have not already met them please say hello on your next visit.


Upcoming Events

 
You may have missed the Tough Muddler event on September 22nd and the mini triathlon on September 28th that members took part in, but if you did there are other events you can take part in.

We have recently introduced Quiz nights on the second Thursday of each month with the next night being October 10th at 7pm.

Look out on the noticeboard for the monthly gym floor challenges, exercise of the week and seminars.

We also have Fitness mini classes through out the week which are a fun quick workout to get your heart rate up! The classes are on the class timetable on our website.

HOLD THE DATE: MEMBERS CHRISTMAS PARTY,
SATURDAY 14th DECEMBER

Our annual Christmas party will be held from 7pm to midnight so be sure to put the date in your diary for a fun evening!


Macmillan Coffee Morning 

We are holding a Macmillan Cancer coffee morning on Friday 11th October from 9am  where all types of home made cakes will be available.

Enjoy before a workout to give you energy or a well-earned slice afterwards!


Car Parking

 
We have rearranged the car park to provide more accessible spaces for members. We have also created a motorbike parking area in the studio car park to increase available car parking spaces.

However, the main problem in finding a car parking space in the overflow car park is Members taking up more than one space so please be considerate to other Members whilst parking!

£500 Member Referral Offer 

 
For every new member you refer you will receive a choice of a £25 John Lewis voucher, box of wine, £25 towards a Beauty treatment or guest passes as a thank you.

IN ADDITION, the first person to refer nine new members between 1st October and 31st December will also receive £500 cash!

We are mainly a referral Club which helps us to maintain a friendly and relaxed atmosphere so we appreciate your continued support of recommending your friends to the Club.

Gym Inductions & Personal Training


To help you keep on track or if you feel like a change to your routine why not book in for an induction/re-program with one of our qualified instructors? Just speak to Reception.

Alternatively, we have a number of Personal Trainers (many of who have been here for over 10 years) who can help you to achieve your goals. Their profiles are on the notice board and also on our website.

Bootcamp!


Bootcamp is an outdoor class (come rain or shine!) run by three of our Personal Trainers, with sessions during the week and weekends. More information can be found either on our website or theriverclubbootcamp.com. £129 members, £169 non-members.

Sports Massage Offer 

 
Having a regular sports massage gives a range of benefits including:

We have had a great start to our tennis term. We are looking forward to a fun-filled term of hard work, tournaments, new club kit and much more.

We have tennis classes at The River Club for Adults as well as children, of all abilities and ages. The development squads are for beginners and we are continually assessing these players to invite then to the Academy.  The sessions are run term time only, with tennis camps in the holidays. 

We also offer individual sessions for those who have specific goals or simply want faster progression. I do recommend at least one individual session for those on the performance program.

We work hard and create strong, resilient players on and off the court. Please feel free to contact me by email, if you have any questions.

Locker Rental


We have a number of small lockers in the Men’s changing rooms which are available to rent which are suitable to leave shoes and clothing in.

New Branded Products

 
We have introduced a new range of branded fleeces, T-Shirts, rucksacks, gym sacks, aqua mitts and takeaway cups, all available at Reception now.

Member Updated Health Questionnaire 


As part of our Health and Safety and Insurance Members are required to sign a health questionnaire (Par Q form) to ensure that if a Member has any medical condition that we are made aware so an Individual programme can be set and we can gain any input from your GP if required.

If you have not filled one in, or your medical condition has changed, simply pick up a form from Reception and fill in so we can help you to exercise safely.

We do not get everything right all the time and cannot improve our service without your input so please fill in a Comment Card at Reception or email enquiries@theriverclub.co.uk.

Club Etiquette


We pride ourselves in being different to most other clubs. We like to think we’re a home away from home with a relaxed atmosphere. We ask that in order to preserve this, the following is observed:
  • Members must bring in their Membership card and register at Reception.
  • Members should cancel any group exercise classes with at least 24 hours notice
  • Used towels are to be placed in the bins provided and locker doors closed after use
  • Lockers are for day use only. 
  • Last entry to the Club is 60 minutes before closing. Please check our website for times.
  • No tea or coffee permitted in the gym areas.
  • Children must be supervised at all times
