T.L. Storer Programs

It is with a heavy heart but with great optimism for the future that we share this news. T.L. Storer Scout Reservation will not be offering summer camp programs in 2020 and the two years following, at which point the summer programs will be reevaluated.

Storer is not being sold, rather we are re-investing in those programs that provide the best opportunity to help Scouting thrive.
For example, New England Base Camp has had success with winter programs, and T.L. Storer will begin offering NEW winter programming in 2020!

  • Three Winter Camping Weekends:
    • Campers will either stay in cabins or winter camp during weekends in January, February and March.
    • Units will have the ability to participate in program and purchase meals or cook in their sites. Each weekend will have a slightly different program to allow multiple visits. Themes include: Winter Sports, Nature and Winter Mountain Man.
  • Winter Vacation Week Camping:
    • All campers will stay in cabins, with sperate lodging for male and female. Campers will have the opportunity to build their own snow shelters and lodge one or multiple nights.
    • Campers will arrive Sunday afternoon to prepare for Monday activities which will consist of three unique programs options, through which they will earning merit badges: Winter Sports, Nature and STEM.

Units are still encouraged to reserve tent sites and cabins at T.L. Storer during the fall and spring seasons! We are also seeking a summer tenant to help keep the property vibrant and in good repair until our return.

We are committed to helping units who have camped at T.L. Storer in July transition to other summer camps, including offering discounted rates to those changing their reservations to Wah-Tut-Ca summer camp and other neighboring camps.

While summer camp programs will not be offered, we look forward to the winter programs allowing units and Scouts to utilize and enjoy T.L. Storer’s campgrounds.

We recognize the emotional connection Scouters have to our properties. As we are saddened by the changes, we believe without question that these decisions are in the best interest of the Scouts we are serving and the Scouts we look to serve in the future.
