Burdick, is opening at 1319 Wisconsin Avenue by early next year and will feature chocolates shaped like impossibly cute animals, among other treats. The 26-seat shop will also offer pastries and several varieties of hot chocolate.

 One Man's Trash is Another Man's Art Exhibit
And they called Picasso abstract. Join designers, curators, and Georgetown Environmental Initiative faculty tonight (October 3) from 6 pm - 7 pm at Georgetown University's new exhibitions space, the Maria & Alberto de la Cruz Art Gallery (3535 Prospect St NW), for LISTEN--a panel discussion about sustainable design. The talk is part of an art exhibition called Design Transfigured/Waste Reimagined, the first to recognize a fresh approach to addressing the environmental crisis through an extreme and inventive kind of upcycling. Pioneering international designers have radically transformed waste into useful, beautiful products. See jewelry, furniture, fashion and decorative objects made from compressed smog particles, food waste and more. The exhibition will be featured at this gallery, as well as the Lucille M. & Richard F. X. Spagnuolo Gallery (1221 36th St), Wednesdays - Saturdays from 10 am - 6 pm, and Sundays from 1 pm - 5 pm, through Dec. 15.

Join Little Friends For Peace for their 10th Annual Fall Fundraiser this Friday, October 4 from 7 pm - 10 pm at Church Hall (1070 Wisconsin Ave NW) to celebrate another inspiring summer of peace camps spreading joy, love, and simple conflict resolution practices to hundreds of low-income youth throughout the DMV. Meet local peacemakers, dance, play cooperative games, and ride the peace train. (Unclear if that last one is literal or figurative, but both options sound great.)
