The Multnomah Education Service District published 16 report cards for schools and programs to share information on student history, demographics, outcomes and performance measurements during the 2018-19 school year. Christine Otto, Instructional Services Coordinator, presented the report cards during the Board meeting at the MESD building, September 17.
"The board is a publicly elected board that helps set the direction for the agency and so it is vital for them to have quality information about how our internal programs are serving our students," Otto said.
MESD piloted 13 report cards last year. Three programs were added this year.
Refining ways to provide accurate and comparable data for the report cards is a continual process. Stakeholder engagement is an integral part of ensuring the report cards reflect their needs, according to Otto.
"As a public agency, and an agency committed to supporting all students, it is critical that our stakeholders have accurate and relevant information about who we are serving and the impact our services have on key progress measures," Otto said. "We believe in living our values which include collaboration, equity, learning and students; transparency helps us live our values, including collaboration, equity, learning and students."
