GEELONG REGION CROSS COUNTRY

The Rundown - Round 10 at The Tan

The Rundown
After a week of reflection I'm still smiling about our season finale at the Tan last Saturday 21 September.
There were two significant reasons to celebrate the day - we came away with two wins and two premierships AND we had four first time runners on board. Thank you to Greta, Dan, Jess and Brigitte for putting in awesome run legs and contributing so strongly. The Tan is a BIG stage to debut on and you all performed in a BIG way. Thanks too to Esther who put up her hand to run Div 2 Women but had to step aside last minute. I cannot tell you how pleasing it is to have new faces sign on for Geelong Region - this round and throughout season 2019. Kinda makes me wish Jells Park Relays were next week (well, kinda... :)

Our 40+ Men and U20 Women have been stand out teams all season. Consistently showing up and consistently running strong, there were several runners that contributed to both these teams. A big thank you to all that played a role in these wins. It was with a lot of pride that I collected your premiership pennants following Saturday's proceedings.

To our solid relay results:
Div 1 Men - 6th (so great to have Nick and Mitch back!...)
Div 2 Women - 2nd
Div 4 Men - 2nd (...and Harry!)
40+ Men - 1st
Women U20 - 1st
Men U18 - 5th
Women U16 - 6th
Women U14 - 5th
