News Impacting the Future of Health & Medicine
<<First Name>>,

Welcome to the Exponential Medicine (xMed) newsletter. Below you will find this week's curated top stories that are impacting health and biomedicine and a terrific xMed talk on Circadian Medicine.

Join Us: We hope you can join the xMed community this November 4-7th for Exponential Medicine 2019.  Check out the recently announced xMed faculty and the four-day program

Announcing - The xMed Fellows: In collaboration with our partners at Anthem, we are excited to be offering five fellowships to participate in this year's Exponential Medicine  (includes registration, hotel, and travel).  We are seeking innovators and change agents from underrepresented disciplines ranging from patients and caregivers to social workers, nursing, EMS, research fellows, social justice, housing experts, and beyond. Please submit nominations via this link.

The New Science of Circadian Medicine: The Body Clock in Health & Disease: How can understanding our sleep-wake cycles and circadian rhythms impact our health as well as optimize the management of disease, even which and when medicines work for us?  Satchin Panda PhD is a Professor at the Salk Institute pioneering this work and in his fascinating Exponential Medicine talk he explores the biology that keeps the whole body on the same circadian clock as well as what happens when our rhythms are disrupted.  It turns out the timing of our diets, when we take our flu shot, chemo or have surgery...have a significant impact on long term outcomes.

Exploring & Catalyzing the Future of Health & Biomedicine
Exponential Medicine is a unique and intensive four-day experience. An incredible array of faculty, 600 selected participants, and 50 cutting edge startups in the xMed Innovation Lab  come together for mainstage sessions, breakout workshops, hands-on demos, a participant unconference, and beachside bonding (from morning yoga, meditation, and art, to evening bonfires, drum circles...and even a cacao ceremony and silent disco), all unfolding at the magical Hotel del Coronado.   Apply here to join us.

Cutting Edge Startups: The highly interactive Innovation Lab will feature over 50 pioneering startups and established companies, with 20 of these competing for a MEDy award (Medical Entrepreneurship & Disruption). If you know of innovative healthcare or life sciences companies that should participate, encourage them to apply to be part of the Innovation Lab.

All the best,

Daniel
