It's been another exceptional year at Venice Art, with more than 450 low-income young people involved in our innovative media-arts, college, and creative careers programs! Here are only a few of the year's highlights:
  • 95% of our graduating high school seniors went on to college—from SMC and Cal State campuses, to UCLA Film, Berkeley, USC, and Cal Arts—most with scholarships.
  • 15 of our older teens and alumni received creative sector internship placements through our Creative Careers program—at companies large and small including Univision, Film Independent, and Dreamworks, where one was recently hired on full-time!
  • This year's documentary and personal storytelling focused on First Vote, young filmmakers, photographers, and comic artists exploring what it means to be able to vote for the first time in 2020. Check out their film, First Vote, (LINK), and their posters and trading card deck, Monster Issue: Monster Vote. (LINK)
  • What else did young people do at Venice Arts, to inspire their creativity and imagination? Experimented with sand, cut-out, and clay animation, painted with light, explored alternative photo printing, worked with 3-D image making, and created whimsical narrative stories shot with plastic, toy cameras.
Thank you for making your year-end gift to Venice Arts, today!
