Letter to the Sangha & Sangha Meeting

Dearest Sangha brothers and sisters:

It is with regret that we are announcing that the Lincoln Zen Center will be closing it’s door at the current location at the end of November. We will be having a sangha meeting on Wednesday, Oct 2^nd from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at 2744 Stratford Ave. Please consider joining us as we continue to plan for this transition. 

We’ve managed in a public space for 4 years at this location, and 2 years at the 56^th  St. location, and prior to that we were at the Stratford House for almost 2 years. Overall, the Lotus Zen Temple/Lincoln Zen Center has been around since 2008 when founded by Fajian Melchizedek.  

We have had classes on various books and teachers, many retreats, multiple types of fundraisers (garage sales, music events), but we continue to have difficulty making ends meet, and sadly, we really have not grown much in membership (monthly pledges).  On the good side, we are happy that we have introduced MANY people to Zen meditation, and that was and is our primary mission.

We’re not sure where/what is next, but rest assured, we will keep you apprised!! Please keep your eyes on our bulletin and Facebook page.
