Program: Konni Burton of The Texan
Konni Burton is a Republican activist from Tarrant County. In 2014 she ran for Texas Senate and won, taking the seat previously held by Wendy Davis. Konni served for two terms in the Texas Senate. In 2019 she founded The Texan (www.thetexan.news), an online, subscriber-based news outlet to provide information on Texas politics and policy. Konni was born in Kerrville, and she received a BBA in Marketing from the University of North Texas. After college, she settled with her husband in Tarrant County where they raised two adopted daughters.
Menu: GREEN CHILE CHICKEN TACOS - Served in house-made cheese-crusted flour tortillas with green chile chicken, a crispy cheddar-and-bacon-stuffed jalapeño, fresh pico de gallo, Cotija cheese, cilantro and Avocado Jalapeño Ranch. Caring for America: Breast Cancer Awareness - Knitted Knockers project
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our member Sheri Radomsky has been involved with the Knitted Knockers project for several years. She'll share information about how they help women who are recovering from a mastectomy. The club will collect monetary donations for the project, and Sheri will host a training at her home on October 22 at 7 PM to teach anyone who wishes to help make "knitted knockers". RSVP for the October 22 training to Sheri at sheri.rad@gmail.com. If you want to come out that evening just to chat, that works too!
