A "Bike Love" Film Festival

Filmed by Bike is coming to town on Monday, October 7. Join us for a free film festival to celebrate the love of bikes at Wealthy Theatre, 1130 Wealthy SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506.

Doors will open at 6:00 pm for free sliders (including a few vegan smoked jackfruit sliders!), mac and cheese, and vegan baked beans from Daddy Pete's. Wealthy Theatre will open its concession stand for drinks and other snacks.

The Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition will be joined by a few other bike organizations including the League of Michigan Bicyclists, Bike Law, the West Michigan Coyotes, and Moosejaw. Other organizations and businesses are welcomed. Contact us for more information.

At 7:00 pm you will hear a bit about the education and advocacy work of the Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition and be invited to join the effort.

At 7:10 pm we will watch a series of short films curated by Filmed by Bike from India, Taiwan, Belgium, New Zealand, and more.

Free and Convenient Bike Parking

The Greater Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition is shifting the culture to a non-motorized and multi-modal transportation future by providing free bike parking at events throughout the Grand Rapids area. We've been at the Grand Rapids African American Art and Music Festival, the Mexican Festival, the Grand Jazz Fest, and 10 other events this summer. By consistently providing plenty of free and accessible bicycle parking we plan to convince festival-goers that riding a bike to an event is feasible and convenient.

Call to Action

We need volunteers to help us make Grand Rapids a great place to ride a bicycle:

Support the campaign to end Distrated Driving by the League of Michigan Bicyclists.
Comment on the 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan by the Grand Valley Metro Council through October 15, 2019. Click on the Non-Motorized section to see bike and pedestrian priorities and plans. The GVMC Consultation Plan is also available for public comment.
