The Blank Canvas
The blank canvas is metaphor for infinite possibility. Enjoy each canvas and the magical possibilities it represents. People often ask me if my realistic paintings are photographs. I answer: “It all started with a blank canvas”.
I like the blank canvass. It represents a fresh start, a new section of life, a chance for redemption, and the possibility of a big breakthrough! When myself or someone I meet is going through a big change in life, I like to bring up the gifts offered by the blank canvas.
When you step toward your blank canvas, do it with a smile, like you are greeting an old friend. It will be fun to see what is new and what values remain the same. Whatever the case, immerse yourself in the honor of being in the presence of a blank canvas...

The ‘Ea is the name of the Hawaiian Hawksbill Sea Turtle. It is sometimes called Houn ‘Ea. The ‘Ea is a rare species with a bill shaped like a hawk’s beak that it uses for foraging. This painting is featured on informative signs made by the Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund and posted and at Honu ‘Ea nesting beaches.
