UCLG ASPAC Statutory Meetings in Makati Underline Local Governments' Commitment on Disaster Risk Reduction
5-6 September 2019 | MAKATI – Almost two hundred delegates from 14 countries participated in UCLG ASPAC Executive Bureau and Council Meetings, hosted by Makati city government. This year statutory meetings focused on the role of local governments in addressing disaster risks, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of Sendai Framework for the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM). The meeting discussed the preparation of UCLG ASPAC’s participation in the upcoming World Congress, where nominations of UCLG ASPAC members will be made for UCLG World Governing Bodies. The meeting also considered UCLG ASPAC members’ proposals to host statutory meetings including UCLG ASPAC Congress in 2020. Click

UCLG ASPAC President Takes Part in HLPF - SDGs Summit 2019
24-25 September 2019 | NEW YORK – UCLG ASPAC President, Mayor Tri Rismaharini of Surabaya, joined global discussions on the UN 2030 Development Agenda at the High-Level Political Forum 2019 – SDGs Summit, organised under the auspices of the UN General Assembly. This is the first gathering of global leaders since UN Member States adopted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals on 25 September 2015 and decided to achieve them in 2030. Click
