Greetings from Japan!
Away from my community Arizona.
 My reflection while await my flight back to my mother’s hometown now at the end of the retreat in Tokyo now.
For me, this retreat was an incredibly diverse and educational trip and experiences I will never forget. Not only that I was accompany by Bhante Sujatha,my teacher for more than 10 years,  also over a span of almost 9 days we visited the 6 cities, various historical sights and temples and practice yoga and listening Bhante Sujatha’s dharma talks in Japan. Sharing experience with the group uniquely rich culture of Japan was another unforgettable aspect of the retreat. From spending days in rainy Hiroshima being was truly amazing feeling and follow by Bhante Sujatha’s meditation and Dharma talk was so significant for me.

I am grateful for what we gathered the experiences that we did, we each brought special aspect of this retreat embraced it was a truly memorable time. Bhante Sujatha and I are already have starting next retreat in 2020 in Fall. I hope you can join us for 2020!
This month, I like to focus on Emotional Well-being. There are many paths to happiness and ways to understand it. I think deep listening is the key. Listening is much more effective than trying to stop thought or cut it off.  Deep listening in your body, feelings and emotions, see what shows up. Be open and listen...

Impressionistic Still Life:
Mindful Oil painting Workshop for Inspired-
Beginners with Ping Way
October 12th & 20th, 2pm to 4pm
Fee: $120 for both workshops
*include all necessary materials (Max. 10 students)


Have you ever dreamed about expressing yourself through painting? Come to this workshop to discover your inner artistic self. This is a true painting class. You will learn the basics of sketching and color in oil on canvas. We’ll meet in two class sessions.
In the first class, I will do a quick lecture and demo, how to do a simple sketch with oil paints on canvas directly, then cover the canvas with oil paints.
You will choose which still life setting to paint.
In the second class, after the paints on canvas almost dry, you’ll add more colors to emphasize light and shadow, to make the painting alive.

Yoga Nidra Workshop Deep Understanding by Lisa Yeager,

This workshop you will learn the meaning and science behind Yoga Nidra and how it will benefit you.
The forefathers of yoga discovered that relaxation alone is not enough, but engaging the subtle brain is. While in the relaxed state of a yogic sleep, our brain works to release pent up emotions and scars. It can be as gentle as feeling more energized, or as heavy as Letting go of a past trauma. Learn the importance of setting your intention and how to remain focused during the process. We will also discuss the different techniques some yogis have coined for this practice, so that you may find what works best for your home practice.
 
Either way, it is a wonderful thing to do for yourself. Including discussions on the breath work, the stages of relaxation and body awareness and tips to guide yourself to Nidra if and when the need arises. Then you will lay back and relax with a guided Nidra meditation.

Jenna is an Advanced Breath of Love Teacher and Facilitator, intuitive spiritual guide, highly trained yogi (ERYT-500), sound healer, and entrepreneur. She has worked with thousands of people in their personal growth journey to find lasting peace, transformation and bold expression of their soul’s Purpose. She is currently an Advanced Teacher for the Breath of Love Certification Course and has shared the stage with world-renowned healers such as Julia Mikk, Dan Brule and Jim Morningstar to name a few.  What is ZEN Meditation?

For first-timers, we run a Zen Meditation Instruction class starts at 1:00pm - 1:45pm. This is a great time to come along for your first time and learn the basics of zen practice and how you can do it.

Healthy Eating
 What You Eat Who You Are!

As you may know that the world oldest person is 116 years old who lives in Japan. Healthy foods is the key. While we were traveling in Japan I had miso soup every morning, sustain our health.

Very simpIe and easy! Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Boil Dashi. Cut tofu into 1/2" cubes and add to Dashi.
  2. Reduce heat to low and dissolve miso paste in the Dashi. Take care not to boil.
  3. Add green onions and remove from heat.
