School Update/Sponsorship
Our school building is almost finished, and we will be starting classes on October 7th. In our last letter I shared that because of government regulations we were only able to build a 3-classroon building instead of a 5-classroom one. So, our plan is to build two 3-classroom buildings, but we need to raise another $8,000 to be able to complete the funds needed to build the second building. This second building will have one classroom for preschool, and two classrooms for 2nd grade (which will start in Fall 2020). When we start classes in this first building this month, we will be having two 1st grade classrooms, and all of our preschoolers will be in one classroom until we have the second building finished. We are also in need of $3,000 to be able to cover the costs of the outdoor bathrooms, supplies, desks, and the government paperwork for the school.
The other day, the parents and kids came to see if their names were on the list to attend our school this year. We had over 200 kids come, and still have more to go, to check all of their paperwork and get things put together. We are super blessed to have some good friends who are teachers here in Burkina, who are helping us train our teachers and make sure we have all the materials necessary for our teachers and students.
We are still in need of 13 more sponsors for our school. We are looking for people who would like to give $50 a month and sponsor either the preschool or first grade classrooms. This money will go towards paying our teachers, guards, cleaning lady, and supplies needed to run it monthly. We are so excited for people to be able to connect with our school in this way, and know that they are making a difference in the lives of over 300 children to receive an education. If you would like to help out in anyway, just let us know.
