The SIDENAV project had its final demonstration on 10th of July 2019 at Sesimbra´s port, Portugal. Researchers from the Centre for Robotics and Autonomous Systems (CRAS - INESC TEC) together with the rest of the partners, tested with success if a group of submerged landers (TURTLE) were able to localize an AUV (EVA) that was moving above.

MineHeritage Steering Committee Meeting

During two days, 8 and 9 July 2019, partners of the MineHeritage project were gathered at Padova, Italy, to discuss the results achieved so far and the tasks for the next months.

The final demonstration of the DeepFloat project was performed on July 22nd at the A.Silva Matos Metalomecânica facilities, Sever do Vouga, Portugal. The hyperbaric chamber build in the projects framework was tested successfully until it reached the pressure of 230 bars.

Guilherme Amaral and Susana Barbosa were at Slovakia from 25 to 30 of July visiting potential monitoring sites in the framework of Portugal-Slovakia bilateral project RADCAMIN "Radon in caves and mines" namely Dobšinská Ice Cave, Gombasecká Cave, and Ochtinská Aragonite Cave.

In the scope of the MineHeritage project, researchers from CRAS - INESC TEC, mapped the Tibães mine, Braga, Portugal, during 2 days (30-31 July). The outdoor mapping was performed using a FARO LiDAR and an UAV (STORK) equipped with cameras and a LiDAR VLP16 (Velodyne 16P). As for the interior of the mine, the researchers used the Faro LiDAR and a terrestrial vehicle equipped with cameras and sensors.
