Another hockey stick looking for its owner!

After successfully finding the owner (who has since endured a painful upper cut) of the Princess stick following publication in a previous Newsflash, regretfully, another stick without an owner has turned up.
At the Grand Final night on SHC2 an Atlas hockey stick branded "Magic Wand composite" was left on the dugout wall. Perhaps the owner had lost faith in his stick by not winning the GF and simply abandoned the stick?
However, if it is yours, and you have now decided to re-employ it, firstly give yourself an "upper cut" for not having your name and mobile number on the stick, then secondly, email MastersVoice@bha.org.au to make a claim for the "lost wand".
TIP: Write your contact details on a strip of paper, then sticky tape over the paper, around the stick. (Place the paper just below the grip on the back of the stick, then tape it)! Guaranteed to last at least a season!

Give yourself an upper cut if you haven't recorded your name and mobile on your hockey stick! Especially since the last Newsflash!

The AGM has been brought forward in 2019 which will allow office bearers more time in their roles, before the proper Season 2020 starts.
At the same time, and venue, the Masters' Planning Day will be held.

Good luck to Bunbury-bound players

The Australian National Championships are being held over 15 days in Western Australia from Friday 27th October.
Many Brisbane based players are representing Queensland teams (and some are guest players of other State teams, too).
Players will be selected into teams to represent Australia at the World Cup in Japan which will be held a few months after the Olympics in November, 2020. As well, players will be selected to represent Southern Cross teams to play in the Tournament Trophy, which is at the same venue and time as the World Cup in Tokyo.
The Australian National Championships will be hosted by Western Australia Country (WAC) organisation, with most games held in Bunbury (about 2 hours drive south of Perth) and the overflow catered for in Busselton, a further 45 minutes south.
Brisbane Masters' committee wishes all players safe travels and great hockey ... with no injuries!

Grand final night wrap up
The Grand Final night was a big success, and considering it was the first time five divisions were contesting the Grand Finals, the night ran smoothly and was only a few minutes behind schedule.
All the results can be seen at this LINK.
Shootouts were required in MHL1, MHL3 and MHL5. All games were close encounters, and all referees were recognised as doing a very good job on the night.
Special acknowledgement goes to Ian (Tex) Harcla from Kedron Wavell MHL3 who was named the 2019 Golden Oldie of the Year. "Tex" had a very victorious night by captaining the GF win in MHL3 after being inspired by the KW MHL4 team winning their Grand Final.
If anyone has any PHOTOS from the Grand Final night, please email to MastesVoice@bha.org.au asap (along with names if possible), for publication in this esteemed communique.
