Raising funds for a School Kitchen!
We kicked off our fundraising campaign in September and we're off to a great start but still have a long way to go in order to reach our goal of raising $22,000!
We believe a new school kitchen will make a lasting impact not only on the students but also in the local community that school serves. Our partner in Haiti, New Missions, currently has 30 schools in Haiti with an attendance of 9,068 students and they serve 2 million meals each year during the school day. The current kitchen conditions are primitive at best, some are just an open campfire, while some are under a makeshift covering.
All materials are purchased in Haiti to help stimulate their economy and majority of the work is done by Haitians which helps by putting people to work.
Matiak Foundation would LOVE to reach this goal but we need your help to make it happen. Help us reach the goal, of $22,000 before October 31st and make a lasting impact on the children of Haiti!

Partner Highlight
Matiak Foundation partners with so many great businesses and organizations and this month we wanted to highlight our partnership with New Missions. For 36 years, New Missions has been faithfully on the ground in Haiti serving the people there. They have worked hard to build a history and a strong trust within the communities they serve. The churches, schools, clinics and feeding programs are all led and staffed by locals. New Missions empowers and invests in local leaders. Tim DeTellis, President of New Missions, shared this, "When you partner with New Missions you are investing in the life of a child long-term. We believe the gift of education bridges the gap between despair and hope. In Haiti, half of the children have never attended school. By partnering together, we can open that door of hope for a child. The best solution to poverty is employment and the pathway to that, is through education." New Missions has seen these results firsthand; they have graduates that are now doctors, attorneys, teachers, engineers and local business owners, each working to make their community stronger!
One of the many things we love about New Missions is child sponsorship. For $35 a month you can provide a child with education, healthcare and proper nutrition. Robbie and I have had the privilege of sponsoring a brother and sister for several years. Each trip that we take we're able to visit with them, take them gifts and just love on them, it's always a highlight!
