Rob Lovell Elected 61st Commodore
By-Laws Amendment Passes

Voting for the 2020 Flag Officers and Board of Directors concluded on Friday with the election of Rob Lovell as the 61st Commodore. Mark Clark was elected as the incoming Rear Commodore in anticipation of moving up the line to serve as Commodore in 2022.

At the Board level,  current Secretary Sam Bender was elected to a full term with Dannielle Higgins being elected as well. Both will serve terms through 2022.

The membership also approved an amendment to the by-laws which changed the requirement that qualification for club office required 5 years prior membership as an Active member immediately preceding a potential term to 5 years a member of the club prior to a potential term. A second amendment approved also eliminated the requirement that the nominator of a candidate for club office, who still must be an Active Member,  be a member for at least five years.

Voting participation increased in 2019 with 57% of active members and 28% of associates voting.

In a building southerly,  11 boats beat their way home after a great day of sailing on the last day of summer.
