Federal Candidates Community Breakfast
Offers Community Members a Chance to Voice Their Concerns

Federal candidates representing six political parties joined us for a family style breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, sausage, eggs and toast during our weekly Community Breakfast on Wednesday August 28th.

NDP Candidate Aisha Jahangir, Conservative Candidate Ashish Sachan, Liberal Candidate Lloyd Longfield, the Green Party Candidate Steve Dyck, the People’s Party of Canada Candidate Mark Paralovos and the Communist Party Candidate Juanita Burnett joined us to listen to and speak with community members about their most pressing concerns. 

On the top of the list? Affordable housing. Access to and cost of food as well as mental health and addictions support were close runners up. 

The Canadian Federation of University Women were also on hand hosting a PopUp Vote mock voting poll station to offer experiential and educational support around the voting process. They'll be back to visit us again on Wednesday, October 2. The goal is to encourage people experiencing poverty to vote.

Celebrates 7 Years!

September marks our 7th anniversary and we invite you to celebrate with us! 
You have two, yes TWO options, this year!

First option, celebrate with us on a weekday Thursday, September 26th between 11 am and 3 pm. Take in the sounds of Zach and Thomas while enjoying finger foods and cake.
 
Stick around til 12:45pm and get pumped for the following day's Stop the Stigma rally at City Hall with three guest community members sharing their personal experiences of addiction, stigma, and the healing power of supportive community.
Second option, join us Sunday, September 29 from 3-6 pm for a community-led celebration! 

This fun, family event will be free of charge and is for all members of the Guelph community. Come out and enjoy food, face painting, family activities and music from the famous Guelph children’s band the Funky Mamas.
