Sorry about the silence. Technology got the best of me. For the past months, most of my emails were going into people's spam folders. I did not want to exacerbate the problem, so I was quiet until the situation lessened.
Since you last heard from NXTGEN, I...
  • Attended our denomination's General Assembly in Dallas and had a great time following up with old contacts and making new connections.
  • Traveled to another successful Hybrid Week at RTS with the Wisconsin cohort. For three mornings, I worked with 2 pastoral interns from an area church on 2 NXTGEN modules and then presented NXTGEN to the Hybrid students.
  • Lead a workshop at the Nashville MNA Church Planting and Renewal Conference.
  • Worked on new modules, some written by colleagues, like Vinny Taureillo's module: Worship - The Leader's Heart. There are also new modules completed or in process which include Leadership Agility, Leadership Pipeline, Ministry Couples Retreat, Budgeting, and Thriving from the Second Chair.
  • Trained over a dozen mentors, with 11 cohorts forming and 6 more in process.
  • Participated in the formation of the Midwest Alliance, a federation of 15 presbyteries from Ohio to the Dakotas down to Missouri.
  • Attended the Bay Area Mission in San Francisco, September 24-26. There is great momentum there.
  • Saw more cohort guys come under care and get licenced at the Wisconsin Presbytery meeting in Merrill, WI September 28. In Wisconsin those preparing for ministry and recently ordained has gone from 2 to close to 30 in under 3 years.
What is coming up? I will be in...
  • St Louis at Covenant Seminary October 3rd promoting the work of the On Wisconsin Network and recruiting potential apprentices.
  • Nashville, TN on October 13, Memphis, TN Oct 14-16, and Atlanta on the 17th to discuss starting new cohorts in those places (and a day or two in Cleveland, TN to see kids/grandkids).
  • Denver, CO to host a workshop at the MNA Church Planting and Renewal Conference on October 28-31. My role at these events is to offer mentor training for those who want to impact the next generation of pastors.
  • Charlotte, NC at RTS-Charlotte November 1-2 for a Church Planting Readiness Seminar.
  • Buckhannon, WV visiting Grace Church November 3rd.
  • Pittsburgh, PA to host a workshop at the MNA Church Planting and Renewal Conference November 4-7.
  • Wisconsin at last (hopefully till the end of December) for the MNA Church Planting and Renewal Conference at Cornerstone in Delafield, November 12-14.
